The Martin Academy
Since 2018, AlcoHelp has been building the Martin Academy, in the village of Chiwembe, Malawi. The rewards are huge, both for the school, the villagers and spiritually for ourselves. The Martin Academy has bought the land on which the school has been built.
As at now, March 2026, we have completed the construction of all four blocks containing Standards 1 to 8 classrooms, including rooms for Nursery and Reception years and the School office. During the the last school year-2024/25: The first term, we repainted the school. The second term we were buying desks and books. The third and last term of the last school year, and heading into this year, 2025/26, it is our aim to achieve the Malawi Examinations Board (MANEB) Exam Centre Accreditation. This is a very time-consuming and costly goal, but will be worth it. Learners from surrounding villages will want to be part of our high-standard Primary school. The process has started, the initial school inspection has begun sucessfully, and MANEB security requirements are in place.
We wouldn’t be where we are without those who help us along the way. That’s why we connect with like-minded people, using our passion and skills to make a difference.
